BETTER COTTON INITIATIVE (BCI™)
WHAT IS THE BETTER COTTON INITIATIVE (BCI™)?
Better Cotton is a not-for-profit organisation, committed to improving cotton farming practices globally. Making it better for the environment and better for the people who grow the cotton in securing a future in the supply chain.
PREMIER'S COMMITMENT TO THE BETTER COTTON INITIATIVE (BCI™)
Since 2021, Premier Clothing Ltd has been a proud member of the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI™), sourcing BCI Cotton through the mass balance system to support more responsible cotton farming practices worldwide. Our sourcing targets remain ambitious, and we are committed to sourcing 23% of our cotton as Better Cotton by 2027.
In 2025, we took the next step in our sustainability journey by committing to Physical BCI Cotton, becoming certified against the Better Cotton™ Chain of Custody Standard, enabling us to purchase and sell Physical Better Cotton™.
Our first style made with Physical Better Cotton, the PR020 ‘Utility 2.0’ Oversized Tee was launched in January 2026.

Share-cropping is a usual practice in the region and over 80% of Better Cotton™ farmers in the
region are dependent on share-croppers for the labour force. The family is living and working on the farm.
In return of their labour, they will be paid 25-30% of the profit after the harvest.
